“I think the size of the system is what makes it so great. I appreciate that GHS cultures a multi-disciplinary approach to healthcare. I believe the system utilizes all the different facets healthcare has to offer to its full advantage. As well as being a huge employer, there is also a sense of family and community. “One who decides to care for sick children definitely needs to have a passion for it. I am surrounded by men and women who share this passion with me. GHS fosters this fervor by providing their employees with opportunities to nurture and improve their skills. GHS also promotes excellence in their service by recognizing and rewarding members of the team for jobs well done. “I believe that the GHS mission—to improve the health of our people in our communities in a caring, cost-effective manner—should be every health care facility’s mission. It is definitely the mantra that I live and practice my profession by. Human life does not have a dollar amount, and GHS and its employees strive to provide the best care to all patients. No one who needs health care is turned away. “If one seeks to be a part of a team willing and dedicated to provide people in need with optimal care, they should come and work for GHS. Greenville Hospital System is a great place to work because it provides a close knit at evidence-based, cost-effective care.” – Nelynda R. “I chose GHS because my experience as a nurse was only in pediatrics, and I wanted to work within a system that had a special dedication to children. My role is as a floor nurse on the general pediatric floor, where I also serve as a charge nurse and preceptor for new employees. I provide acute care to the pediatric population and serve as charge nurse on both 5E and 6E.
