Interview Process

Interviewing Process

  1. GHS uses a behavioral based interviewing process. Research has shown that past behavior is the best predictor of future performance. We use pre-selected behavior based questions on the interview guide for each specific position. We use the same interview guide for all candidates who interview for that specific position. Interviewers take notes during the interviews.

  2. We ask open-ended questions that require some explanation, such as "Give me an example of a time when you...", or "Describe a time when you...", or "Tell me about a time when you...". The questions relate to your real life, work or academic experience. We are listening for the specific EAR (the Event or that took place, the Action that you took during the event, and the Result of that action) in your answer for each question.

  3. Interview questions relate to areas such as teamwork, customer service, and quality. An example might be similar to: "Describe a time when you had to do a job that was particularly uninteresting. How did you keep yourself focused to complete the task? " We want to hear a specific example of the event itself, what you did, and how it worked out.
